Peter

An impulsive fisherman restored to lead the church

Simon was a fisherman when Jesus called him and gave him the name Peter. He walked on water before sinking, declared Jesus to be the Christ, and then denied knowing Him three times on the night of His arrest. After the resurrection Jesus restored him by the sea, and at Pentecost Peter preached and about three thousand believed.

Key verse: John 21:17

What Peter teaches you

Faith. Your failure does not have the last word, because Jesus restores you and still asks you to feed His sheep.

Family. When you let down someone you love, go back, receive grace, and let restored love speak louder than your worst moment.

Business and calling. Step out of the boat when Jesus calls, and when you start sinking, call out for help instead of pretending you are fine.
