Woman of the Bible · Patriarchs
Leah
First wife of Jacob, mother of Judah and Levi
Leah was given to Jacob through her father's trick, and Jacob loved her sister Rachel more. God saw that she was unloved and gave her children, and the names she chose show her longing for her husband's love. With the birth of Judah she turned to praise the Lord, and through Judah came the line of King David and of Jesus.
Key verse: Genesis 29:35

What Leah teaches you
Faith. When you cannot win the approval you crave, turn your face to God in praise, and let Him define your worth.
Family. Rivalry between siblings or spouses drains a home, so name the hurt honestly and stop competing for love.
Business and calling. You may be overlooked by the people you serve, yet God can still build something lasting through your faithful work.
