Man of the Bible · Exile and Return

Daniel

A faithful exile who served kings without bowing his conscience

Daniel was taken to Babylon as a young man and resolved not to defile himself with the king's food. God gave him wisdom to interpret dreams and the writing on the wall, and he served under several rulers with distinction. When a law forbade prayer, he kept praying, and God shut the lions' mouths.
